Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces is proud to announce that on May 6th, 2024 Crandon Golf Course at Key Biscayne will be undergoing a $5 million revitalization / renovation project. This project will ensure optimal playing experiences for golfers while preserving natural areas as we update our irrigation system, bunkers, putting greens, teeing grounds, cart paths, parking lot and entry roads. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we work to better serve you, estimated completion and reopening is early Fall 2024.

During the course renovation, nine holes will be open for play with both 18-hole play (double loop) and 9-hole play options. Each hole will be provided with dual flags and multiple tee options available to mix up the challenge and fun.

This fun and unique rotation will ensure continuous play for our visitors while the course refresh is underway.

When will the full revitalization be completed?

The target completion date for all 18 holes and practice area is early early Fall 2024

During the Revitalization will the course be open for play?

Yes, the first 3 months the front 9 will be open for play.  Most golfers will play 18 holes, or twice around.  The large greens will each have 2 flags, so that the 2nd 9 a different hole will be used.  Golfers can elect to also only play 9 holes.  Crandon offers a large variety of tee boxes.

Halfway through the project, the playing 9 holes will switch, meaning that the back 9 will be open for similar play.

Will the restaurant-bar and driving range remain open during revitalization?

Yes, the range and restaurant will remain open the normal hours!!

Will the practice putting and chipping greens be revitalized as well?

Yes, this area will be improved during the second phase of the project.

Should I expect to see a reduction in service?

Absolutely not, Crandon will maintain a full staff to encourage fun and tournament play!

Will the training center remain open so I or my family can get instruction?

Yes, Crandon Golf Academy will remain open during the project!

When the work is done, what will be the difference in early Fall?

Upon full re-opening, players will see improved greens and bunkering, new cart paths, plus a new irrigation system allowing us to maintain the course at the highest level of quality and playability for many years.
